Graydon and Judy

Graydon and Judy Jessup spent forty-eight years in pastoral ministry in a journey that started in Oregon in the mid 1960's, took them to Indiana for five years, and eventually led them and their young family to Alaska in 1969. For the next twenty-two years they pastored a church Judy's father had started in the 1940's, and reared their family on the edge of the nation's frontier. In 1992 they left Alaska and joined the team at Eastside Christian Church in Fullerton, CA, where Graydon served as senior pastor. During their seventeen years at Eastside, God opened door after door for Graydon and Judy to partner with various global ministries. They travelled and worked with a wide variety of believers from all walks of life in adventures that led them from farmlands in Argentina, to the ancient city walls of Jerusalem; from the shores of Chile to the deserts of sub-Sahara Africa; from the islands of the Philippines to the jungles of Asia; from the far corners of China to Central Asia and such nations as Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

Along the way God continued to increase a burden in their hearts for those people who have never heard the truth that Jesus came to set people free from their sins. From farmhouses in China to high rises in Osaka, from prisons in Dushanbe to train trips in Russia, they continued to meet person after person who had simply never been told the truth: that there is a God; that He loves them; that He sent His Son to die for their sins; and that He longs for them to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord of their lives.

By 2008, the Jessup's sensed their time of leading a mega church in Fullerton, CA was coming to a close. They began to seek the Lord and ask what doors He would open for them to continue to be used strategically in His Kingdom.

God combined their love for Him, for people, for sharing the Gospel, and for those who have never heard the truth about Jesus into a vision:

To invite believers to pray 90 seconds a day and give 90 cents a day for the Gospel to be shared with those who live among the world's most difficult, least reached people groups.

90 seconds of prayer. 90 cents. Each day. For one year.

Heart and Soul90

After 365 days, a person will have invested 9 hours in prayer and $328.50 into spreading the Gospel of Jesus to those who have never heard.

That is called "participating" in the Great Commission. That is called living out the Great Commandment.

That is the Body of Christ – loving those enough, who have not yet heard the truth about Jesus that they make a commitment – For 90 seconds. For 90 cents. For 365 days.

One of the unusual blessings of HEART AND SOUL90 is that even though it is outwardly focused, it has turned into it's own community. Believers from around the country, and eventually from around the world, are banding together for 365 days, to pray, to give, to change the world.
